As a Catholic, and a human being, I struggle for faith. Some days it takes more work than others. I’ve signed up for the struggle, though. I’m a miserable person without it. Some of history’s greatest saints experienced well-documented struggles for faith, and went on to not only believe, but perform miracles. That inspires me. Reminds me that anything is possible.
So when my friend Justin Catanoso discovered a saint in his family, and brought his own family to the canonization ceremony in Italy last summer, the idea that anything is possible became a little more believable.
Justin has written a book about his journey and is blogging about his own conversion from a journalist to novelist. The attached video is one of my favorite stories so far. I look forward to reading more.
